Quick look Behind the Work
A bit more about me

I started designing in 2023 after switching careers from construction into UX. Since then, I've been working at Phlo, a health-tech startup, where I help design the internal prescribing platform used by our clinical teams. Over the past two years, I've worked closely with pharmacy and clinical teams to scale the system from handling a handful of daily orders to thousands every week.
Before that, I spent several years studying construction related courses — earning a degree in Architectural Technology and a master's in Construction Project Management. That background gave me a structured way of thinking, experience working with complex systems, and a focus on long-term, practical solutions — all of which I now bring into product design.
The switch to UX wasn't something I planned, but it felt like the right fit. I've always enjoyed solving problems, simplifying complexity, and designing with purpose — now I do that by building tools that help clinical teams work more efficiently and provide the best patient care.
Outside of work, I spend most of my time following football — whether that's travelling across Scotland or across Europe. When I'm not at a game, I'm usually catching up with friends, family, or trying to squeeze in a round of golf (still convincing myself I can actually play).

What people say
Helpful, accurate, friendly — always willing to go the extra mile.
Open-minded and happy to take the time to discuss and brainstorm. Comes up with great ideas and clever solutions.
Calum's research on a recent project gave us so much valuable data — it completely shifted how the team approached the feature before it reached development.
It's easy to forget this is Calum's first design role. He's grown so much as a designer and team member already — it's just a case of maturing his existing skills through experience and exposure.
